Standards Committee
The Standards Committee oversees the Council's Code of Conduct and is responsible for considering complaints that a Member may have breached the Code.

Changes to the Standards regime
As a result of the Localism Act 2011, there have been changes to the Standards regime and how complaints against members will be dealt with.
The Council Meeting on 4 July 2012 approved a report on the New Standards Framework that included:
- the new Code of Conduct for Members
- procedures for dealing with complaints about Members
- the establishment of a new Standards Committee
- guidance relating to Disclosable Pecuniary Interests
- the appointment of an Independent Person.
Complaints about a Member
The Procedure for Dealing with Standards Complaints explains how we will deal with a complaint that a Member or co-opted member of the City Council has breached the Members' Code of Conduct.
