Public Questions and Petitions
At every Full Council meeting (except the Annual General Meeting) members of the public have the chance to put questions about Council business to the Cabinet Members and submit a petition.
Please note that the public gallery in the Council Chamber holds a maximum of 50 people. For really busy Council Meetings it may not be possible for all members of the public to sit in the gallery. When the gallery is full we will accommodate people in an alternative room.
Petitions
We would welcome advance notice of your petition by 10.00 a.m. on the day of the meeting and you can either present your petition at the meeting or ask that it be submitted to the Council on your behalf. If you attend the meeting you will be able to speak for up to 3 minutes.
To give advance notice of your petition please contact John Turner in Democratic Services - email john.turner@sheffield.gov.uk or telephone (0114) 273 4122.
Further information is available on submitting petitions.
Public Questions
We would welcome advance notice of your question because this would enable a more detailed answer to be provided. You can do this by contacting Dave Ross in Democratic Services - email dave.ross@sheffield.gov.uk or telephone (0114) 273 5033.
If you wish to ask a question you have to attend in person and provide us with details of the question by 1.45 p.m. at the latest on the day of the meeting. Please therefore report to the First Stop Reception, Town Hall, Pinstone Street by 1.30 p.m. and Council staff will then advise you on the process for asking your question.
